Encuentro Series vs Others

I am almost finish with JM second (El arte Flamenco de la Guitarra) and Paco Pena book. Looking for other material and ran across the Encuentro Book and DVD Series, witch of the artist would be a good continiation to the above, or is there another series to consider?

Look forward to your post.

Encuentro is GREAT! I have them all. For beginners, for traditional falsetas and for learning the different palos Merengue de Cordoba is great. If you wanna get into bulerias Moraíto is a good one. Gerardo Nunez has a lot of great technique exersizes in his.

Some of the falsetas, like Tomatitos bulerias or Chicuelos alegrias, are quite complex compared to JM or Paco Pena. Studying them closely helped me learn a lot of new chords for flamenco and a lot about compás and syncopation, though. Still it's maybe better to have a good understanding of compás and intermediate technique before getting going on some of the more advanced stuff.

Paco Serrano is also not too difficult, at least the first section is broken down etc.

Didn´t you read my encuentro thread in past? I had e-mail contact with them. And they told me, Im the first one who got the info about the new band. They wrote they got one whose well known and at the level of Gerardo. So,.. its for sure not Juan Martin.

I was in Madrid last weekend and visited the 3 conde hermanos shops. In Atocha there was hanging signed Juan Martin photo at the wall. So.......... respect Juan Martin. Or he is just used by conde for commercial. ^^ They are very good in talking to you when you test their guitars... I am not half as good as they told me I am.. haha ^^

No joke M.A.C.? Nice. His stuff is all playable and he has some pretty nice compositions. The cons would be.... he wont show too much new things..
