It still hasnt cooled down yet in Andalucia and so its agood job there are a lot of all night flamenco festivals happening. Last night (saturday 5th) was a full moon and a perfect night for an outdoor concert. It just so happened that there were a lot of flamenco gigs including 3 major flamenco festivals happening at the same time last night in Andalucia so we were spoilt for choice. In Jerez de la frontera bullring was the Fiesta de la Buleria dedicated to manuel parrilla (which i would really have liked to have gone to) I dont know if Norman went but if you did go Norman, could you post a report? The line up wa El farru, Jesus mendez, Familia parrilla, Manuel Moneo, Diego Carrasco, Miguel salado, Remedios Amaya and David de Maria junior. In Ecija (seville) was the 33rd noche de cante flamenco with Miguel Poveda, Alvaro diaz Casrellán, Chicuelo, el niño Elias and Antonio el Pipa In the tiny coastal village of Algarrobo near nerja was Bonelo hijo and la Macanita However Mairena de Alcor was having their festival de cante jondo featuring Calixto Sanchez, Jose Menese, Aurora Vargas, Carmen Linares, Antonio Carrion, Manolo franco, Enrique de Melchor, Diego Amaya and Salvador gutierrez, Javier Barón, Fernando de la Morena, Manuela Mendez, El Zambo, La tia Curra, El Bo, Dieguito de Margara, Diego Morao and moraito Chico....I cant believe I couldnt go to that. So when I was asked if I wanted to go to flamenco festival in a tiny village just outside of Granada I thought "well there cant be any artists left to see". However I took uo the invitation and and after a short car journey i was taken to the town of Ogijares, a sleepy village on the outskirts of Granada city, the last place anyone would expect to see a major festival.
