Tapado

Sorry if you don't feel this warrants a thread...but to me it does :P

So basically I love tapado sections (or palo seco or whatever you want to call it...doesn't seem like there is an universally accepted term?) in flamenco, for me a well played one is just as good as any "real" playing. But sadly this seems to be some well-kept gypsy secret because to this date I haven't really found resources that show some tapado patterns in detail. Fortunately I remember Jason to have a lesson dedicated to it on his site, but anyway, that's still not a lot.

Clearly tapado especially in bulerias is more than just muting a regular strummed compas pattern. Does anyone have more tapado patterns for bulerias? What are some of the most established ones? Whenever I see players do it, especially with that rhythmic security and intensity, I get really pumped. I would love to practice it too but I have no idea where to start and since some of them are so complex and fast, it's hard to imitate them just by watching videos.

Anyone got some pointers?

I think tapado refers to the technique of playing with muted strings, palo seco refers to cante without toque, or maybe even without palmas etc.
To bulerias tapados... Doitsujin had a good one on his challange video. Its not so much a matter of technique IMO. You can create your own patterns as long as you have the rythm. Sorry i cant help with a pattern, and i have never seen anything like a written tapado pattern.
