Learning Spanish Language

Can anyone recommend a good software program for learning Spanish"? I cannot afford to go there yet. What would be recommended?

Not exactly a software, Pimsluer learning spanish is an excellent audio book - used to listen in the car. After the first 2 CDs (there are 3) I went to Spain and was able to get along not bad.

I used Michel Thomas plus the "Just Talk" CDs ripped to MP3 - got me along well enough to start a new life in Spain.

I've been pleased with linkword spanish. They give you images to help remember vocabulary and it gets you writing sentences quickly. They claim that the method has been assessed academically and that the image method is more effective than straight memorisation. Doesn't do much for conversation but would probably complement an audio course.

you can try the free demo if you're interested

Fluenz

This. Go to Amazon and read the reviews on Fluenz, then compare that with the reviews of Rosetta Stone. In my multilingual quest I have tried both programs, and Fluenz wins hands down. It's not perfect, but no foreign language software ever is. But ultimately Fluenz has much, much more going for it than against it.
