Deflamenco article Emilio Maya

"When a guitarist connects with his guitar, he’s looking for himself, and finally you say ‘now he and the instrument are one’. Sometimes the guitar gets the better of you, your picado doesn’t come out, one thing or another doesn’t sound right…the good thing when you’re playing is to be on top of everything, the sound comes and you enjoy yourself. I’ve reached that point and I’m delighted to have achieved this. The years put everything in order, it’s about maturing, like the best serrano hams, you smell them and “mmmm, fantastic aroma!” [laughter]."

I think you'll all enjoy it

What a coincidence...

Yeah a great sense of humour, the banana story made me laugh out loud :) and a great teacher so I am told as well as playing brilliantly. You can hear some extracts from his album at his CDbaby page and our website. We're very proud of it. I dont where you are based but he's touring the States in September with Rafa de Utrera. When I know exact dates and venues I'll post them.
