While we're on woods....

Anyone ever build a blanca with Port Orford cedar for the body? For the top? It's used in either application.

Never seen nor heard either.

I've used it, in fact I still have a set that's been sitting around for many years. It's a nice substitute for cypress. The problem with Port Orford is that it now costs as much as cypress so there's no point in using it anymore. 20-30 years ago it was much more common and a lot less expensive. I wouldn't consider it suitable for top wood. I personally wouldn't use that curly stuff shown in your picture.
