Cante de las Minas 2008 winners

This is very interesting reading to get a look at the state of flamenco today and who's coming up in the flamenco world.

Our friend Sergio from Granada seems to have swept up almost all the prizes for cante. Olé el Colarito.

wow what a coincidence..

Rocio Marques just sent me a friend request the other day and i remember reading her page and thinking to myself "shes so young, looks like a litlle girl"

is she good have you heard her ?

i cant watch videos on her page cause of my speed.

Hey Florian,

Wow you are making some cool friends on myspace.

I've not heard her sing but this article was written by Estela, Zata from the forum, and if she says the woman is good, added to the fact that she won the coveted lampara prize, then she must be amazing.

shes on my list under new friends if you wish to say hello.

i didnt realise how good she was until you just told me, i must check her out.

does winning this competition guarantee the artists an album recording or something like that ?

that would be very cool.

Yeah will definitely send her congratulations and invite her to our myspace sites, Jaime, Emilio, Pablo and Andalamusica.

Winning the Cante de las Minas is an honour and you get a lot of respect and attention what happens next depends on good management and promotion. There are no guarantees but it sure looks good listed on your CV.

There is another cante competition which takes place in Spanish prisons. The winner gets a complete pardon, set free and a record deal ! I think Agujetas was one of these but maybe Sean, Zata, Ricardo, Estevan or Pimiento will know more about this.
