Guild Flamenco Negra?!

I was browsing around and came upon this. I had no idea that Guild made a negra, which actually doesn't look bad, especially with all solid woods. Has anyone seen this thing yet?

Just curious.

Peter

Intriguing... but no golpeadors it appears to me. Could it be just a glorified classical guitar? I don't know, but I intend to find out. I suppose one could just slap a couple on there if one decides it's a good sounding instrument. Here are more references:

thanks, Peter

Well,.. Im actually looking for an upper class guitar. But my feeling tels me that I shouldnt spend any more time on checking guild guitars. ...

So what was the threat about? ... I´ll go back working.. ciao.

I am looking to buy a cheaper practice flamenco, and wanted to know if anyone had played it. I am an English teacher, not a guitar salesman.

Thanks,

Peter

Peter, I have a Lucida Artista 797 Picado for sale in new condition if you are interested. The company has discontinued the model for some reason but if you look on the review sites it is consistently touted as a tremendous value. It is certainly better than just about anything else you can get in the "kick it around practice guitar" price range. I would sell it to you for less than the Guild. The retail on it used to be $1099. Email me at bernardcolson@hotmail.com if interested.

Well.... Than forget my post..

If you are searching a guitar, too. Just test it if possible. If you can handle it or not, is a personal thing. If you are thinking on selling it in future if you need money or a better guitar.. Than I would focus on buying a guitar of a known maker.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking about getting something decent, but didn't want to get something that I wasn't worried about my kids (4 and under) crushing underfoot.' ' I planned on getting the Yamaha, and then saw the Guild and thought, for a bit more, I could get a negra and solid back and sides. I'll probably go with the Yamaha, especially since no one has tried the Guild and it isn't available to try out in this area.

Cheers,
Peter

to be frank, i trust guild more than yamaha.

Musicians friend has a return policy that can't be beat. buy the thing, take it to your local guitar store and play it side by side with a yamaha lol. see who wins!

i have to say tho, the fact that it says body style: hauser made me laugh. its like they're trying to market this thing to wannabe classical guys lol. flamenco? maybe lol

the purfling is....."cute"

i don't know, though it seems like a solid guitar, and solid wood i find to be a better choice.

as for golpeadors... if you've ever seen a polyeurethane finish you'll know that you wont even need a golpeador. i tried removing poly and it took me hours with a power sander.

if you find that you want one, its a 10 dollar fix lol.

check out the guild, i think you may find its a good guitar
