nasty chord!

hi folks, has anyone got any secrets/tips for playing this chord in this sequence (at 2nd fret here)??

--2----------------------2----3----0
--------------------3----------------
--------------3---------------------
--------2---------------------------
--3----------------------------------
-------------------------------------

it seems to give me trouble anywhere on the fretboard, just doesnt seem to be enough room to get all notes clean. perhaps its just a matter of getting used to it and positioning fingers correctly.

Hi, here is a possible solution. Play the note on the second string (the B string) with your second finger, Although this seems backwards it enables you to switch from a contracted hand position (for the bar) to a more normal (four fret span ) postiton which should help keep your hand loose to end the phrase (motif) strongly.

It might be an idea to switch to right hand alternation at the same point (on the D, second string with the i finger ) which might help keep both hands well coordinated.

D.

Barre first finger ALL THE WAY across the neck. Pinky will come up for the 3 fret 1st string when it needs to. Release the barre only after the pinky plays that note to get the open string next.

For fast bulerias tempo on this, I would do this right hand fingering:
P(rest) with a.
P
i
m
a-m-i all on the first string, free strokes like tremolo. Notice speedy right hand pattern from 4th string=pimami.

Gotta agree with Ricardo here.
Some of these really awkward chords are best done full barre even though it doesn't feel right at first.
Watch Moraito.

cheers,

Ron

Thanks guys, think i'm gonna go with the full barre.
Although, Guitarbuddha, your suggestion is good and comfortable and produces clean notes for me, its a struggle to get there quickly (fingers wanna go elsewhere.)

I had been doing the full barre but then watched gerardo playing this in la cartuja and saw he wasn't barring all the way, but hey he's Gerardo, I'm me.

Cheers dudes
