Granada Flamenco festival 2007

Estela's first review in English for the Granada Flamenco Festival has now been published, here's the review for Fuensanta La Moneta
http://www.deflamenco.com/indexi.jsp?cambio=e

Coming soon, Son de la Frontera ( who ended up partying all night at Eshavira afterwards - did you go Pimiento?) and Manolete and Juan Andrés Maya ( which is where I'll be tonight).

I didn't catch any of the other shows as I have my sister staying but got the full lowdown every night when Estela got back ( last night at 4 am after being kidnapped and taken to the caves of the Sacromonte and subjected to an all night juerga!).

It's a tough job...but someone's got to do it

Couldnt make it to son de la Frontera which was really annoying as i had to work.
I did see manolete next day. He was incredible...i mean incredible, a modern maestro....although let down by bad sound. Also someone of that quality should have had better backing then the show would have been truly amazing. Got gragged to the peña afterwards to see sara heredia at 12.30 in the night. Then went to Eshavira, got home at some ungodly hour and spent the weekend in bed.

Here's Estela's review for Manolete
http://www.deflamenco.com/revista/paginai.jsp?codigo=1803

I had a ticket but couldn't go due to family being here for the puente. A show that starts at 10 pm never mind 12.30 at the Peña is just too late for them. We caught the Juan Andrés Maya though as he did a 7 pm show Sunday night.

Anyway I heard that Manolete was incredible but yeah his backing was not so hot. As for the sound, well just as well Harold wasn't there or he would have bitched throughout.
