good stuff geeza!! take care and get stuck into those late night parties and remember its rude to refuse any intoxicating substance they may offer you. they will take it as an insult and run you out of town (and possibly smash your guitar into little peices and urinate all over it)

Hey Folks,
Wow alot of posts to catch up on.
Just got back and very ashamed and sad to say I didn't see and Flamenco!!!

I was with people who simply wanted to sit on the beach, swim in the sea and drink some Rum/vino. Which of course was great, but it was a little frustrating as I was deep in Flamenco country but was confined to an Ex pat community where the only thing close to Flamenco was a dodgy restaurant called "El Flamenco" Don't think I saw it open once.
Actually I did enjoy sitting on the beach watching a seven aside football world cup, where they were playing loud flamenco on a stereo.

One minor story to tell that almost destroyed my holiday.... on the first day. I took my guitar with me and had to check it in to oversized luggage, fine.... anyways got to Almeria airport, went to baggage collection, we all got our main bags and then the conveyor belt stopped. My guitar was not there!!! and the dude said that was it no more luggage!!!

Well, I was a bit of nervous wreck for the rest of the day and couldn't really relax till the next morning when thankfully it arrived on the first flight that day.

I'd plan to look a few of you guys up in Granada but 250km was to far for the female company I was with.

Next time!!!

Good to be back and looking forward to Sunday guitar course!! Who else is going from here???

Shame, it's a great drive from Almería through spaghetti western country and then Guadix, the troglodyte town with its amazing caves and through the nature park of the Sierra Huetor Santillan. We do that drive all the time for a day on the beaches of Almería. Where were you ? The sea there is fantastic.

Hasta la próxima
Kate

Hi kate,
We were staying in Mojacar about an hours drive from Almeria. Yeah the beaches were great, water was crystal clear and spent alot of time snorkeling. first couple of days were windy and there were lots of waves so we had a little surf with some body boards too.
