Music theory - Intervals

I'm working on some ear training so i thought i would ask you guys if you have some nice melodies for memorizing the intervals. Here are some of mine.. many of them they are boring/impersonal, some are blank cause i only have swedish melodies on those atm. so that's why i'm asking for your assistance.

Interval-------Up-------------------------------Down-----------------
m2-------------Jaws Theme-------------------Für Elise--------------
M2------------------------------------------------------------------------
m3-------------Greensleeves-----------------------------------------
M3-------------Kumbaya/Megaman Jingle--Super Mario Theme
P4-------------O Tannenbaum----------------------------------------
Tri-------------The Simpsons theme---------Rush YYZ-------------
P5-------------Starwars Theme--------------Flintstones Theme--
m6------------------------------------------------------------------------
M6-------------My Bonnie----------------------Nobody knows------
m7------------------------------------------------------------------------
M7-------------Take on me---------------------------------------------
Oct------------Over the Rainbow-------------------------------------

I think it's a better way to memorize both notes and then fill them up scale wise.
Be it rising or descending.
The melody method has the big disadvantage that you never get rid of them anymore. So when you're analysing a Bach fuga, you constantly have these bonnies and tannenbaums in your head.

But if you want some others:

m3: satisfaction ( you have to skip one note )
p4: almost every anthem ( the american, the marseillaise )
m6: love story
M7: maria ( westside story )

yeah, you've got a point there. by your method, you mean keeping the two notes and then go: do re mi from the lower note up to the second? or first identify what the first note is in the context and then climb from there to the second?

i use the simple do re mi approach, but find it difficult with minor intervals.. and i often loose the second note before i've climbed all the way to it. so everything that helps me feel the intervals is great imo. i would guess the songs will disappear once the intervals are set in the mind.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused here - are we just talking about melodic intervals that are common/"definitive" in each of these songs?

No, we're talking about the interval the song starts with.

@ Margenta: You should try to sing the intervals. So when you want to sing a p4, you first sing : do-re-mi-fa. Then sing do-fa.
When you can sing them, you can recognise them better.

sight sing.

its how they do it in universitys everywhere

grab a **** ton of easy tunes, sigh sing em. ones you know. that'll help. also, touch your jaw with both hands while you do. it will help you memorize the feel of the intervals.
