You know, it's become more prevalent now on various sites to say..something like...
"Well, OK... Camaron was great and all that, but Flamenco wasn't born and didn't die with him...there are plenty good young singers if you just forget all this Camaron idolisation and use your ears to listen to what's happening now".

A point that I totally agree with intellectually.

But..

There is something about that voice that really does it for me.

In a way, like Presley, there is something about the voice, with such a range of expression that can go from demanding macho man to plaintive little boy lost, and everything inbetween that just grabs you somehow.

As I said before, I understand the argument about letting Camaron go...but when you hear the voice again, your heart says something other.....

cheers,

Ron

A wee addendum to what I've written already.
Jeremy Issacs said that Pavarotti was a really terrible actor in opera, but he could act with the voice.

This rings a bell with me in Flamenco.

Camaron, IMO, could tell a story from the voice alone.

All the greats can probably....

Better still if you can see the facial expressions and hand gestures!

(I like how Capullo said that to sing Flamenco, you have to make an ugly face from time to time. )

cheers,

Ron
