A Russian => Paco´s Tarantos

A taranto played by a classical guitarist. I´d say he does it really good.

Saludos
Bernd

this link could go where the funny faces talk was :)
the guy would make a very good flamenco player i think, but somehow on a classical guitar with classical technique it just doesn't sound like "it"...he is very good though, really...

(is it just me or classical right hand technique really looks so stiff and unnatural?)

Didn't think very much of that - sound and rythym is way too flabby. Needs more attack and momentum.

Yep. He plays good though. I hate all these contraptions used to hold the guitar up nowadays. Whatever happened to the good ol' footstool?

here is the full version.

Sorry but all the faces, exaggerated head and arm moves? Too much for me. At least during the tremolo he actually focused on playing rather than performing.

To Tom, A frame helps with common hip and back problems classical guitarists have. IMO it all comes done to how tense you are and stuck in a certain position too long. LOOSEN up guys (classical players like this guy)! And stop TRYING to play flamenco, and actually learn it.

If one has no idea what this palo actually sounds like, im sure
its enjoyable.
But this guy has no clue how to phrase any of this piece.

I guess he learned it from sheet music or something.

Im sure if he heard a recording of the original, he'd say "oh jeez, i was
way off!!"

The guy was OK, but no better than a lot of the uploads I hear from members here who are not concert professionals IMO.

The thing I love most is how Flamenco is creeping into the psyche of the serious Classical players now.
It's like they just can't help but admit now that it is the most exciting, passionate and adventurous guitar music they've ever heard, even though they've maybe tried to ignore it and keep their heads buried in the sand.

Sure has come a long way since Segovia said "Flamenco??....pfff.....just a toy".

cheers,

Ron

The guy annoys me with these showoff-posings. He play "mas o menos" ok.
