Practice trick

I just picked up a cool technique from the Effortless Mastery book. What you do is you pretend that someone else is moving your fingers. It sounds silly and simplistic, but it really changes your perspective and might help you breakt hrough some barriers. It made me realize taht I had a lot of tension in my im picado, for example.

It's somewhat similiar to Grisha's advice to practice watching and listening very intently as if you were transcribing yourself.

Yes, the hardest part is to let go of the ego, that has a tendency to make you tense up in difficult passages, and instead just relax and focus on the music.
