"Jose manuel Leon's" NEW album

Hey everyone, im new too the forum so i hope this has not already been discussed.. Jose Manuel Leon released a new album this year called "Sirimusa"..
Personally it is one of the most influencial albums i have heard for a long time. There is something new and different in his sound and the way he plays, I will have to go as far as too say that not since Paco has there been something so exciting and innovative.."dare i say it"..
But it is not just a flamenco album, the jazz influence smacks u right in the face with some beautiful accompaniment from Pablo Martin Caminero on bass who incidently produced the album...
The one of so many high lights on this album is the the way he accompanies the Cante on the "Tientos".... before you know it he slides into tangos but its like nothing you have heard before..
But its not just his playing that influenced me but also his humble personality, I was fortunate enough too meet him on his tour with Carmen Linares in New Zealand.. He came out with us after the show and talked to us for hours about his experiences in life and flamenco.. Following day he also gave me a couple of lessons which has given me so much modivation to persue my dream and addiction too Flamenco..
I hope i have not bored you to much with this but it is very rear you get too meet someone like this, i guess he is a mentor too me which is what everyone needs sometime in there lives....

Hi Kev yes we did discuss it , even uploaded some samples of it in the Audio sections ( cause u can never geet a good sound out of the ones at flamenco world) personally i love some of it and some i am indifferent about, i most of all love his silky sound.

I think it was agreed that this one is very much a matter of presonall taste, some will like it some will hate it and some will be in a midlle about it, ( like with most albums but this one I fell even more).

I havent loved an alegria as much as I like his in a long time.

Thanks Florian.. yeah i saw the other thread after i posted this one "of well"..
yeah definately is a personal one, his sound is very different to what has been coming out at the moment, but thats music, if everyone keeps releasing music that sounds the same people are going to get bored :) .. I have to agree with you on the Alegria it is a beautiful piece...
