Rasgeo update

In case any fellow beginners are interested:

I mentioned about a month or so ago that I was going to try practising left handed rasgeos to try and build strength, especially in the little finger. Well, I´ve noticed such an improvement, that i have gone a bit further; I now warm up everyday by doing normal and backward rasgeos on both hands. When I started with backward rasgeos (first the index and the pinky last), my ring and little finger muscles hurt like hell. Now they don´t hurt at all and my right hand rasgeos have gotten a lot stronger and neater. My left hand technique feels better and the strings are starting to feel a bit softer. I have also noticed that barr chords are getting easier...not much, but a little!! Anyway, I hope someone else tries this and lets me know if it works for them too!

Saludos
PS.. Simon, theres plenty of fish in the sea...even a rusty hooker

Reverse rasgeo makes sense for strengthening.

With a regular rasgeao you have the palm to flick from, but you take much of this away by starting i m. If I start with i m already extended to do a normal directioned ras, then I really feel weakness in my pinky.

I also think that the mechanics of the hand allw the other fingers to assist the a e fingers to spring open.

Reversing the process helps to isolate and takes deliberate thought which helps in creating muscle memory in adition to strength.
