Wish me luck guys...

Concert's tonight and I'm off to the sound check. This is for the school I accompany for, not the solo concert.

Interesting here will be my playing of Asturias with castañuela accompanyment from the maestra as well as the alegrias to which the maestra and another teacher dance - also another guitarist and cajon. If both go well and it's okay with them I'll put it up tonight...

Best of luck! Focus on the music and you'll be great ... is all that matters at the end of the day.

Juan de la M,
you don't need luck, you have skill. Just go out and have a good time and you'll be fine!

One of the first concerts I ever did, I was playing after a friend, Kurt Cichon. He fell in love with my new guitar and wanted to use it on stage. Well...Kurt is a heavy handed player. He managed to break a string in his 5 minute piece--and I was up next! Someone handed me a cold guitar and me and my friend went up to play a bulerias. I had about 10 seconds to tune while the dance teacher glared at me. Hey Juan, don't lend your guitar to anyone!

Besides that, you're going to rock the house!

Thanks guys, your luck wishing helped!

Asturias went almost perfect, the rasgueados boomed like I've never heard them, the sound guy wasn't bad. Towards the end of part one, the very last arpeggios just before the sweep (those are such a bitch), my right hand fingers locked and I had no chance to loosen them, but I played through it pretty well nevertheless.

The alegria was damn fun and I was everything but nervous. During the escobilla the dancers did a hard golpe on the 12 and I though it was over but should have actually played against their dancing. Good that the other guitarist was there and after a copla I was back in.

All in all, the whole show was just really really really damn fun and I wish there were something like it every night.

Once I get the video I'll ask if it's okay to upload!
