Arpeggio question
I went to a guitar class with a new teacher about a week ago, spending the whole session just working on technique. He showed me that when doing arpeggios you have to anchor your thumb on either the 5th, 6th string, or on the guitar itself. If your doing repeated arpeggios on the trebles, and your strumming the D string with your thumb, then your constantly moving your thumb from the 6th sting to the D string and so on...strumming, planting, strumming, planting. Is this the way EVERYBODY plays? because if thats true, i want to look up my old teacher and give him **** for not showing me that!! Now I have to break the habit of doing floating arpeggios.
