Smashing Up Condes

Do you think we'll ever get Flamenco guitarists smashing up their guitars on stage? or what about setting fire to them? The question was provoked by one of the Flamenco guitarists Ron recommended, who happens to have an unconventional fashion-sense for a Flamenco guitarist. I'm guessing most Flamenco guitarists are less concerned about public image (apart from Miguel, who takes it quite seriously! ). But obviously the music is more important than clothes and image, right? Or perhaps its just a question of which image. But can you imagine Paco smashing up a Conde at the end of his set?!

Maybe rock guitarist smash their guitars at the end of their show cause they think their crap!

I doubt Paco thinks that of his Conde

Yes, it does seem like a bit of a waste of a guitar. especially if its a good one. But it serves to highlight some of the differences between Rock and Flamenco. Although Flamenco has its "bad boys" too... If I remember rightly, there was outrage when Paco crossed his legs on stage for the first time! perhaps its a slippery slope...

LOL, not sure which year, but I think he was quite young at the time, and considered one of the "new school of Flamenco guitarists". If I remember rightly, it is mentioned on one of the documentaries... either "Light & Shade" or "Francisco Sanchez".

dude if a thing was worth 17grand i sure as heck would'nt smahs the thing plus, flamenco dosn't have the same kind of ethos as some rockers do, phil lynoot was a great artist but never once bust up his guitar.

hendrix setting his guitar on fire might have had something to do with the magic smarties he was taking.
