What sort of resources are available to you, locally? Are there teachers and if so what do they teach? For example, regular 6 steel string, acoustic, classical guitar, flamenco guitar etc. I could not find a flamenco guitar teacher, so I went with a classical teacher and am learning flamenco guitar on my own, or at least I think I'm learning it. IMO the path to learning flamenco guitar is not a short one so don't expect to be playing like Paco in 6 months, or for that matter 6 years. However, the journey for me so far, has been very enjoyable and the people on this site have been very helpful. Who, or what sort of music have you been listening to that piqued your interest in flamenco?
