Changing strings from medium to hard...

Newbie on string changes for Flamenco. There is not neck relief in a flamenco, correct? Not truss rod in the neck? So going from medium to hard tension won't be an issue? I guess you can't do anything anyways as far as neck adjustments..

There's not generally a truss rod in flamencos(some custom exceptions) but nylon doesn't impose a ton of tension on a guitar like steel does. The strings are more likely to snap than bend your neck.

A well-made flamenco guitar can handle hard tension strings without a problem. I find hard tension preferable over medium tension. I just think you get more out of them.

Neck relief is a good idea on all guitars although it's most important on the bass side as it allows for lower action without too much buzzing. Most guitars will handle high tension strings but not all. Put high tension strings on and observe the response. If the neck starts warping and the top buckles don't use them.

Take a look at the strings you are trying. High tension in one brand could mean 87lbs, in another brand 100lbs. Hannabach and Aquila have some really high tensions out there that I would be personally a bit wary to try except on a more heavily built guitar (i.e. classical).
