Dani De Moron in london

Anybody catch this show and or the workshop afterwards?

I saw the show and was left a bit cold.
Yeah they're all clearly awesome at what they do but something just didn't hit the spot for me.

His first two solo pieces were too much! Reverb cranked right up and no breathing space. too many notes crammed in.

Saying that I enjoyed hi solo Farruca and the alegrias and Bulerias's were good.

Also...maybe this is an english thing but if a show is a tribute to someone I almost expect him to make that tribute...ie play a paco tune!!! maybe this isnt the way they work it in flamenco.
Paco wasnt even mentioned. So to bill it as a Paco de Lucia tribute just seems like a way to sell tickets! (for the record I would've gone whatever it was called)
any one else go?

Hi Stu,

I went too. I agree with you about too much reverb and not enough breathing space.
I also enjoyed the Farruca; and the Seguiriya wasn't too bad either.

Having learned my lesson (!) from the Antonio Rey's workshop the day after the concert, I didn't bother with this one although it could have been totally different!
I haven't heard from the folks who went.

Take care,
A
