Hello from Ireland

Hi everyone,

I've been playing guitar on and off for about five years now and I really want to get into flamenco. I have absolutely no idea where to start so any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Hugh

Lots of flamenco in Ireland, Dublin and Belfast. Not much cante, but guitar and dance. look around.

I do know of one person where I live who plays flamenco. I think I might try to get lessons from him.

Welcome from your diaspora, John Walsh is a monster I don't know if he teaches or is near you.
Your best bet really is a teacher, either in person or skype, especially early on. Best of luck!

John Walsh is the guy I was referring to above! He lives in the same county as me but I'm not sure if he teaches.

Welcome on board, Hugh!

A good teacher is priceless / making a world of a difference regarding efforts, progress and future pleasure with playing.

I am very fond of what I have experienced as Irish mentality.
Must visit Ireland some day.
