I woke up this morning covered in sweat and ate octopus for breakfast, I must be in Japan. How can I help you?

This made a lot more sense after spending two weeks in Japan. I loved the two weeks I was there before I went underway a week ago. I was not expecting it to be that humid in Japan. Estebanana, I'll have your bag of peanut butter, beans and tortillas waiting when I get back to Japan.

Hey Nick are you floating around about on a super secret mission in the West Pac?

Let us know when you return. Japan and the locals in my town just keep getting more interesting as time goes by. If you feel like traversing the country to a sleepy fishing town please come see us.

Octopus is delicious and Akune area octopus is considered top of the line. The heat finally broke in Kyushu, so it's not so humid.

A small fishing town sounds awesome. I love exploring small local places. You get an entire diffferent viewpoint on culture when you leave the large cites. Is the name of the town you are in? It is good to hear that the heat is gone. Did the Typhoon bring lots of rain to your town?

We got hit by the first few typhoons, but by the time they get to us they are pretty spent. I was in the heart of real typhoons in Micronesia so these storms don't phase me as much as make me nostalgic!

It rained like crazy, and the wet season is hot and wet. The last group of typhoons past around Kyushu and much of Shikoku and hit Honshu. Japan is really long, as you know, it's like we live in central Florida and Hokkaido is like Vermont and Maine.

One of John Shelton's guitars came to Akune with Stan a flamenco who lives in Korea. It was fun to see the Shelton - Feretta guitar, WHICH HAD THE BEST PEGS I HAVE EVER USED BAR NONE. He took the plane over to Japan and then the Shinkansen to a station near us and spent a few days. We got silly drunk and I had to look at the photos on my cell phone the next morning to see which karaoke places we had visited while drinking and eating.

Akune is like a beach town in Southern California in the 1960s- Like Dana Point or Encinitas before yuppie douchbags moved in. So it warms my jaded heart.

Anyway, send me an email sometime when you get R&R

Where in Korea does he live? I am headed to Korea in a couple of days weeks.
Sounds like you two had a great time. I have yet to meet anyone who is into flamenco out here. I know there has to be a few dance studios and maybe a few guitarists but not being able to read really hinders my ablity to seek them out.
