Ramirez 1a vs Hermanos Sanchis Lopez...

I am now down to purchasing one of these two? either a used Ramirez 1a from the 70'/80's or a new Hermanos Sanchis Lopez 1f extra Negra....

Any thoughts or does Ramirez sound like a quick winner? I have no idea as I have never played either but heard lots of great reviews and videos to support both..

My goal is to get a pure old school flamenco sounding guitar...

In my experience, Sanchis make fantastic guitars very once in a while. But you'll have to try many of them to find a good one.
All the Ramírez guitars from the 60's to 80's I tried were fantastic instruments too. I've never seen a bad Ramírez from that time.

I would always prefer the older guitar. Those old cedar top Ramírez guitars tend to sound really old school ;)

Thank you for the reply. This is a very difficult decision. I like the idea of having my own brand new instrument. At the same time, its hard to say NO to a Ramirez 1a from the 60's/70's...

Should you happen to be thinking about the possibility of future resale, an older Ramirez would be much more likely to hold its value and, if you're able to buy one in decent shape for a good price, you might even make a little profit if you ever decide to sell it.

Honestly, I was more than happy when I was finally given the opportunity to change my Pau Ferro Sanchis for an old Ramírez blanca. Why do you even ask the question? Get a Ramírez!

So far it looks like Ramirez is winning by alot. Any Sanchis fans out there?

Sanchis is nice but their guitars aren't old school sounding at all. They tend to sound quite similar to Conde guitars which is what's popular these days.

That's because they probably make most of the Conde guitars.

Unfortunately, there's no way to show that I "like" your comment. Oh, wait! There is, I just did.

Ramirez?
I chose my 87 spruce blanca over numerous guitars on offer at the time
I guess the other consideration going by your post is blanca or negra...
The blanca will most likely give you the tone you seek.
Alternatively there are some fine luthiers here ....

play both guitars, decide which one you like best, doesn't matter what label is in it.

This is good basic common sense.

It feels better to have a guitar by a famous maker like Ramírez

Regardless of the comments above I would never buy a guitar with out playing it first.

Good luck with your search for "your" guitar , I know how hard it is , we all do here if we are honest. Let us know how you get on .
