What do you call a guy who plays the charango – a charangist?

Anyway, Federico Tarazona is a terrific charangist. Here he is playing "Guardame las Vacas," a well known classical guitar piece. He also plays classical guitar.

And he builds charangos. There are different kinds of charango - some are only good for strumming. But others are neat little instruments that can play polyphonic music, like this one. He built the one he's playing.

I talked to him few years ago, he is a very friendly guy , but unfortunately he builds hatun charango for himself only

I play charango :)

Here is some Huaynos in Cusco (my city) style :)

and I also built a charango in 2009 with the help of a luthier in cusco that was my friend, Toribio Quispe :) but the charango I played in the video was made by Sabino Huaman...maybe the best charango luthier in Cusco :)

I met and I saw Federico Tarazona in a Charango Festival on 2009...he is a nice guy and great player...

I really like also Freddy Torrealba...he is a virtuoso of this instrument :D

Hi Azogar,
nice to see some one playing charango here. I have a charango made by Justo Baca from Cusco, he made me a beautiful charango of amazon wood. If you don't mind please tell me Sabino huaman email address please.
