If you use a bike to get around it is easy and great fun but keep your mouth closed. Those flies taste horrible

Have never been there myself, but it was Manitas de Platas old stomping ground before he got famous.
The Camargue sounds beautiful...have a great time!
I think Escribano (the founder of this Forum) spent some time there.
(Pero no es Jerez... )

cheers

Ron

I did live in the South of France and visited the Carmague - a strange place made famous in England by the French tv series about "riding white horses" if I recall. It's flat, salty, marshy and somewhat desolate.

Their own versions of flamenco and bullfighting are much admired. Some Gitanos came into Spain from the North e.g. rumba Catalan. The Carmague is in the old Catalonia.

I met a guy from Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in Jerez last year but I cannot recall his name for the life of me. If you bump into a middle-aged short, rotund with greying beard and a guitar - give him my regards

I think you'll love it!
