Getting better quicker!?!?!?!

Hi to the Menko Crew
I just thought about how to go about my practice to make the most out of it and i thought.....Why don't we get together and share our little practice tips that have definatley improved our playing. As a student we get told "just do these exercises.... and these... oh yeah and these ones too!" YEAH RIGHT!!!! There's only so many hours in a day, so let's help ourselves.
One thing that has helped me is just playing along with the compas cds and i'm only allowed to play two chords. No falsetas, just the 2 main chords of the palos. You can use inversions and that's it. Do this for 15mins each, then focus on falsetas later. This is constantly helping me with my compas as well as testing my brain for new creative paths though the crazy rhythms used in Flamenco.
So go nuts.
Ps My picado sucks poo! Any ideas???

The two most helpful things I have encountered are books. One is a book on guitar technique by Eduardo Fernandez, the other is a book on piano technique by C. Chang (it is available for free on-line, and you can google it). Actually, let me add The Inner Game of Music, too, that was wonderful.
