Is the Luthier strings quality probl...

http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=120662&appid=&p=&mpage=1&key=luthier%2Cstrings&tmode=&smode=&s=#121100

So is it still a problem that they tend to break easily or they are improved with a couple years. I have set of Luthier 30 strings on my student Navarro now and they really seams to be a perfect match for me. I was planing to order a larger quantity of them from strings by mail cause they have much better price there than here in europe.

Cheers.

i've had no problems with the silver 45's, they sound brilliant and last a bit too...the gold set i didn't like as the sound faded away quickly and as they were quite thin i can imagine they would break soon too...

Out of maybe 18 sets of luthier 30 I have had 5 high E strings break when first putting them on and tuning them up. I've never had this with any other make of string.

These breaks have happened recently but one never knows when a string was made, I am hoping they have now sorted it out.

I keep using them because I like the way they feel but maybe I should change! Any suggestions?

I use D'Addario EXP45 EXP; they last very long.
They may sound a bit metalic when you first put them on but when they are settled, they sound very good. Worth trying!

the larger quantity of single string brand you buy...the more defects you will encounter. That goes for ANY brand.

I´ve bought large quantities of many brands and I´ve ONLY had problems with Luthier strings.

I've written to Luthier, they replied and said they have not recieved any other reports of trebles breaking. I sent a link to this thread.

I hope they can fix the problem. Hopefully it was just a faulty batch and I'm not going to run across another bad string. I'm going to keep buying them anyway because I really like them.

I don't know about Luthier strings, but I think LaBella 2001 Medium Hard tension strings are amazing for flamenco AND classical. I can use a set for over a month (playing a few hours every day) and they still sound great.

They should make a seven string packages with one extra top E string, just in case one lets you down
Anyway thanks for the replays I am willing to take a risk and place an order
