Tools 

My wife is going over to Japan in a few days.

Can the forum suggest some ought-to-get/can't-do-without tools I could ask her to get? (for my birthday...)

Saws or knives? Any obvious sizes?

Japanese planes and chisels are really good, also this is a pretty cool little tool Marvi uses in this video.

It's made by NT in Japan C-2500, originally a circle cutter for carpet layers
