Thanks for uploading those articles, Dan...

A bit technical for me, but I know Brune is a respected maker and it's good to read his thoughts and feelings on the subject.

cheers,

Ron

Hello Everybody,

A couple of people have requested a copy of the C.O.M.G. article but there was trouble sending due to file size limits with their email servers. The article - in PDF format - has been uploaded to the following:

The link is active until May 1.

Regards,

Dan

Hi Everybody,

Here's an interesting photo of a gypsy group. La Zambra from 1890. The guitarist has, what looks like, a guitar with a rosewood body. The picture supports Mr. Brune's argument that prior to the 1930's there was no distinction between flamenco a classical guitars, just cheap and expensive models.

Thank you for the picture!
I just love sinking into historical photographies and trying to figure mentality of the time in question, reflected through postures and facial expressions.
( Interestingly, the mood in this very picture seems quite modern already.)

I used to fancy Torres´ guitar shape with a bit deeper corpus just like with todays classical guitars, as with this one for instance:

Whereas the specimen in the photography you provided features a shallow corpus, accomodating flamenco demands like still today.
