Spruce projection

It was funny, I was playing my new Tezanos Perez negra and then my Francisco Navarro (a builder in Mexico), and to my dismay, it seemed the Navarro was fuller and louder. But when I played Soleres for my wife with both guitars, she said the TP was about twice as loud! It's funny, I wonder if it has something to do with spruce projecting more, but the cedar tops having a fuller, more substantial sound to the player.

Your TP is also a negra isn't it? I think negra's tend to project more than blancas. As for the volume, you'd have to see which has the thinner top, number of braces, thickness of braces, etc, etc. There's a whole lot of variables involved.

Miguel,

Your TP being a full body negra is a real canon for projection. Have someone play it while you are in a large room and you will see what I'm talking about.
