Could you help me choose?

Hello everyone, as this is my first post i would first like to say hi and its a pleasure in finding such a useful and resourceful forum where we share the passion for this music.

My opening question (i have a feeling you've all been where i am and will ask plenty more) i finally decided to make a serious move onto Flamenco style after playing some solo guitar and mainly Gypsy Jazz. I've Been looking at these guitars for nearly a year now but never took the bite as i didnt know what i was really looking for and didnt want to jump right in like i did with my mexican strat, Gitane d500 and O whole and many others.

A year later i've narrowed it down to 2 guitars by reading numerous pages an trying out not half of what ive liked, unfortunately haven't tried either of these but people say these are the best for my price range? which is £500.

The two that i think are pretty decent to start on are the "BURGUET 3F SPRUCE FLAMENCO" or the "Francisco Navarro Flamenco Negra".

Which one would you choose? or any other for the price of around £500?

grateful for any info,

tar!

Try a second hand guitar, you can get alot more for your money and then if you want to resell and move up you'll get your money back.

Here's a good second hand in your budget.

thanks for the replys,

Exactly, i thought that... for alittle under £500 i could get my hands on a Navarro 'negra' which everyone seems to enjoy, recommend and seems an ok price, however the Amalio is a £900 Flamenco and has excellent reviews, and i could get that for around £450.
I just thought maybe someone who've tried these guitars could differentiate between the two.

I do understand just because its more money doesnt always mean its a better guitar.
The Ricardo Carpio, it looks great but i know little of this make... plus its in Germany and personally i really would like to get the 'feel' for the guitar and play it instead of fussing around with shipping back n forth, but thanks for looking it up.

cheers!

i think what the folks here are recommending are navarro's flamenco guitars in general, not just specifically the negra.

if you want to save money, consider a blanca, which i believe is what most folks here who own a FN have. i dont think he even makes negra concert or student models.

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family.
Choose a ****ing big television, choose washing machines, cars,
compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good
health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed
interest mortage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your
friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a
three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of ****ing fabrics.
Choose DIY and wondering who the **** you are on a Sunday morning.
Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing
game shows, stuffing ****ing junk food into your mouth. Choose
rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable
home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, ****ed up
brats you spawned to replace yourself.

Choose your future.

Choose life.

Oh yeah...and a good guitar!

(Sorry...only kiddin' but I couldn't resist.. )

cheers,

Ron

my advice, navarro.

deniz is a good guy, his guitar should be worth the dough. its between those two for me on principle of who you are buying from.

thanks ron, i'm guessing i'm lucky to have all them choices eh?, but you forgot one other option which is not to read what you write

well ok, i am weighing up the nav negra coz its on ebay for that price and people speak highly of them and also should be a great beginners guitar in this style.
I don't see any navarro blancas available where i have looked.
Decisions decisions, i have no idea now but thanks once again i do appreciate it.

Bang--just remember though the Navarro is a negra and will have a negra sound to it. If you are OK with that then go with the Navarro. If not, go with the used Carpio.

Just be E-bay cautious.

I would go for the Carpio one; he is a real master.
Good luck anyway.

Look at this picture and repeat my words: I - want - to buy - Ricardo - Sanchis - Carpio - 2F - great condition - blanca sound - good playability - etc etc...

ok i try to be more serious and neutral: I have played some low and middle budget Burguets and didnt like them actually. I have NOT played a Navarro, but from what i read and hear, Carpio or Sanchis guitars seem to be considered one level above. Also they build higher models, which costs several thousands, and AFAIK Navarro does not. The Carpio i have was my first guitar which i had a good feeling regarding playability, in that sense "it helped me alot". No matter which guitar you choose, it is always better to try before buy.
