french polishing with bridge attached

Does anybody on the forum FP with the bridge attached to the soundboard?

If so, what's the method to get a good finish around the bridge? and what's the advantage of polish with the bridge on ( being able to check sound/action before polishing)?

Andrew

RE: french polishing with bridge att... (in reply to Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I used to polish with the bridge on in the early days. I was always keen to hear the guitar before the finish went on. I Still have to when there is a repair comes in for a repolish.

It's pretty tough to describe in words. I do it by making sure i have a fine point to the rubber making sure you can get right up to the edge of the bridge. dont make it too damp. And dont work the area too much as you'll find you'll pull the polish back up again. Hope this helps
