"Puño" means fist, but also cuff, which is the meaning here. In this case, the word "comer" (me como) would be more like to bite than to eat. With that in mind, everything else should fall into place: The singer makes an assumption and gets excited, but when things don't go as he'd imagined, he becomes so enraged that he has to bite the cuff of his shirt (presumably to avoid screaming, becoming violent, etc.) Sounds like a temper tantrum, eh? It's exactly what Mairena wanted to convey (now I'm making assumptions) because the style of soleá is Frijones. In several of Mairena's recordings of these styles, the letras describe a person who doesn't always act in a civilized and/or adult manner. Here are some examples: Yo me rompo mi camisa y te la pongo de turbante no quiero que me la des ni que se la des a nadie Yo me quito me camisita y la tiraba en tu corral a ver si viéndome encueros tú me tomabas más voluntad A llorar yo me ponía a ver si llorando sangre de mí te condolecías Por lo que me está pasando yo no he tiradito piedra poquito me está faltando Si otro te camelara yo sacaría un cuchillito y la cabeza le cortara
