PMs on the Forum

I'm beginning to wonder if PMs on the Forum are a bit of a hit and miss affair as I have sent a few even this week and can see that they still remain unread even though I can see they are active on the Forum.

(You can check by clicking on the recipients name)

I'm thinking of maybe stopping using it now and just using email.

I think a possible reason is because when you get a message notification, you tend just to read the first one and miss others. (?)

(I know I've been guilty of that in the past myself!)

Isn't there a way of highlighting "unread mail" as in Outlook Express etc?

cheers,

Ron

Agree, and then when you enter the foro, you are a bit busy and dont feel like reading the message again and you dont feel you have the time to respond, so you think: "Next time I log in I´ll answer"
Next time you log in, you forget because there´s no little box saying that you have a pm. And so on.
It has happened to me a few times.

True...but sometimes users change their main day to day email address over the years and check the original one only occasionally, if at all.

(Which I suppose would still cause the same problem even if you used email.. )

I dunno what the answer is, other than to make sure you keep your email address updated in your profile and take care to check if you might have more than one PM when you get the little pop-up notification.

cheers,

Ron

Could possibly have been true if Tony Blair was still PM, since at one time he was taking lessons from Paco Peña.

But Gordon Brown?...

(He's too busy taking 'smiling' lessons.. )

cheers,

Ron

Yeah, it really is true, Stu.

I reckon PP must have had to go to Downing Street, otherwise there would have been a heap of Security around his house with Armed Police and sniffer dogs etc.

I think he also visited PP in Cordoba.

In an interview someone asked him how Tony was coming along....
PP tactfully said "ummmm...well he'll have to practise more...".

On another note Bill Clinton (when he was still President) was attending some big glitzy concert somewhere with other heads of State where they were briefly supposed to politely shake hands with the main big-name entertainers at the end of the show.... and caused a heap of concern to his security people by disappearing and getting into a half-hour conversation with all the Sax players in the house band discussing technique and stuff.

Good 'ol Bill!

cheers,

Ron

nice one ron! Thats another couple of anecdotes to add to my collection..

I always knew blair was in a rock band of some kind but i like him a tiny bit more now I know he dabbled with flamenco..

as for clinton...what a hero! smoked weed, dodged the draft, played the sax, screwed his secretary...hes muy flamenco even if hes never played the guitar!!
