ORIGINAL: Richard Jernigan Thanksfor the video tburke, and thanks for the info Ricardo. The video tells us Pepe was from Sevilla. I just came from Sevilla to Granada. My hotel was in Triana. Pepe could have been walking the streets of Sevilla day before yesterday: accent, gestures, facial expressions, the whole bit. RNJ Further I would say watching his interview he was a very cool character, his approach to playing, technique, accompaniment vs solo playing, his thoughts on cante being more than just solea siguiriya buleria, teaching etc....very little has changed it feels to me vs a modern maestro. Even he's using a negra for portions of that concert. I like how he says no need for music theory/reading music to learn flamenco, then they show him play that classical choro. The same deal for PDL when he says the same, no theory just play by ear then busts out the super involved zapateado. The interviewer was very clever in that sense, that's why I like the whole series the way it cuts through the BS in a short time.
