had lessons with both

David ...absoluteley as spectacular and as skilled as they come..for me second to noone..(hes my paco)..because of his extensive work in accompanying dancers, hes really defenetly got something special...when he plays rithm its amazing and unmatched , when he does falsetas are amazing and full of heart...each note means something...and when he does picado..absoluteley clean and perfect and powerfull sound, hes like been genetically engenered to be the perfect guitarist in all aspects...and as a person...u cannot get any humbler and nicer...hates "fame"

its just a matter of time before his solo album comes out imo

well i almost killed them in my car lol i cant belive they got into the car with me after after only 2 months of getting my drivers licence and driving lol they were probably terrified but too nice to say it..i was driving over sidewalks to do turns...applying the brakes too sudden at the lights...when parking head on i wouldnt stop going foward until i felled the top of the car hitt something...then i knew i was ready to turn off engine lol

and i almost got Jonathan, enriques brother...3rd guitarist late for one of the shows cause he was at my house but we missjudged the time...and on the way back there was one of those transport trains that takes about 12 minutes to finish....and we were stuck at the lights waiting for it to pass

It's interesting and I think this has something to do with what Jason was talking about with recorded music being nowhere near the real thing.

As much as I admire Paco's playing and many others, I still look up more to my teacher who (technically) is probably nowhere near Paco. When you are sitting face to face with a master guitar player and the guy's sound and overall demeanor are just hitting you directly....it's an incredible experience. Also getting to know the artist as a human has a lot to do with that special kind of respect.

ofcourse you miss allot of the subtleties from a recording...but the thing that makes the difference the most to me is the velocity that that music is coming straight at you with..

but u can still hear it and see it in David's picado in this video..he gets amazing clarity ,volume, speed and tone on those picados (even in this unprofesssionaly recorded video)...when he wants too

but what makes him special is not even to do with just the guitar...look at his face and body language...look at how much hes just loving music and not taking it for granted..humble, no airs or arrogance about him....just looks absoluteley happy to be there..and really is in the moment, and the way he shares and interacts with everyone on stage...inspirational and..absolute joy to watch

sometimes you see someone play on stage and they either thinking too much or worring about looking in control or cool or whatever but this guy ..is smilling, all the way trough....absoluteley enjoying himself and absoluteley open..just look at the crowd reaction
