Sorry to hear about that Shroomy. I know its tough for all of us. My wife had an entire tour of the US and Canada canceled at the last minute. That was a huge loss of income and of course a lot of work for nothing. The show was prepared and mounted and ready to go, promo press and we had bookings coast to coast. It would have been my wife's swan song. It was her dream.... If that wasn't enough, our New World Flamenco Festival which was been incredibly successful for 8 years was also canceled. Two huge productions pulled out from under us with no warning and no compensation. A major drag. We are still reeling from loosing money on our last major show last November in SF. The ticket sales were dismal because of the economy. Sometimes what we are trained and best at doing isn't actually how we make our way. I have had to do all sorts of different things to get by financially in the past and especially these days. I am guitarist, but I make ends meet recording, mixing, teaching, graphic design, web design. I did some guitar repair for a while too. Keep your chin up Shroomy and keep your eyes and ears open and let people know you are available and interested in working. Its a drag and you have a lot to complain about, I agree, but complaining won't really help. Just be patient but ready for when opportunities come up. Try and stay positive through these times. What really becomes most important in times like these are our relationships with friends family and our dreams. Pedro gave me something very special when I was short on knowledge and I know there are people here who have met him and know of him. He has had a remarkable career despite MANY, MANY rough turns. As he is embarking on a new journey with his new website, I thought it would be appropriate to mention it and send some love his way on his birthday. I spoke to him on the phone today and he was stuck in traffic on his way to gig in NY. He seemed happy and optimistic.
