UPDATE ON MOVE TO NEW HOST

It has taken a few days to move eveything to the US - where our current database resides, in order to overcome database timeouts. Unfortunately, in testing I am still getting the same timeouts and unacceptable performance.

So the move did not fix the issue, even though all files are sitting on the same host as the database, which is very poor and I have raised a ticket with them.

We are stuck with what we have here for now. I intend to get this forum running quick and sweet.

I work at Microsoft and this will help in my "negotiations" with the hoster in question.

Watch this space.

Yeah Simon,

I too have to deal with tricky, "sometimes there...sometimes not there" kinda hardware problems as well.

It's really frustrating after putting hours and hours of sweat and work into solving it, only to find that it hasn't....

Of course the customer does not see this and generally just complains that "they want the job done properly this time."...

It would drive you bleedin' mad!

So thanks for all the time and effort so far Simon.

cheers,

Ron

Thanks for your effort Simon

Take it easy, I think that a faster and more stable foro is important, but take the time you need. It doesnt have to be today or tomorrow.

I'm OK. When I start something I have to finish it nowadays. This isn't Spain
