PayPal

Dear All,

Today i have initiated the setup for the paypal account, however, there are a series of steps that must be followed before this account is active. They have advised me that this will take approximately one week. I will follow up once the acount is active.

thank you.

More than I deserve, less than I need... as it is often the irony.

The economic turmoil is generating serious and critical problems to a many businesses. I am now officially overwhelmed, and my reduced posting frequency is caused by such circumsatnces. Michelle (whose nick name is Michelob) has been with me for ten years. She will see the account through.

I need time to practice for my May 3d gig !!

btw... someone from the forum today asked for "tabs' of my Serenade n. 3. I read the short note many times over, and still cannot believe it was directed to me. Thank you. I have not answered the e-mail yet. I will in the morning.

Through many a difficulty, the Paypal account is almost ready. Tomorrow a new test-deposit will go to the dedicated account and it should -God willing- generate an account number i can share with the Foro.

I miss posting, but am so busy. please do not forget me ... i will be back tomorrow.

RE: PayPal FINALLY.... (in reply to gj Michelob

Dear All!

I have finally set up the paypal account. Obviously, you will need a paypal account in order to send the funds. Go to www.paypal.com. Sign in with your account number and click on "Send Money". When it asks you for my email address, please enter in gjc@corradomontgomery.com in order to send money.

Please let me know if you need further instructions.

This is from the real Michelob... Michelle

Thank you At_Leo, and really Alisa, your contribuiton was received along with an e-mail notifying me of the deposit.

I could not think of a better person to open the "dances". To the rest of this caring community: please follow Alisa's examplary deed. We need to support this foro and the activities that are developing. The contribution is not to exceed $3... but its meaning is invaluable.

Six contributions, so far. I cannot overstate how immensely I enjoyed receiving them as each proclaims a much greater commitment than the payment itself.

It takes an effort, I realize, to enter the information required to make the payment, and generally a dash of courage should one fear the treacherous internet. But please think of how much you love this place, how much you learn from and share with it, how much you have grown to depend on it.

Please contribute, not only for the few dollars which will be used to buy rewards and prizes, but above all to show your individual commitment. If everyone can do this, then there shall be no fear to ever forfeit this wonderful venue.

Carry on, I do not want to sound like your local preacher, but do put one hand on your flamenco heart and the other on your … credit card!!

F*ck's Sake??

SIX contributions?

You guys better get a f*ckin' move on....and I don't want to hear any of that....
"Ohoohoo MeeMeeMee....Meees no like to give my Credit Card details over the Internet" stuff.

****.
Crap!

Like you've never bought ANYTHING over the Internet EVER??

Don't make me laugh.

I'm suspicious, cynical and jaded about everything, but I've been signed up with PayPal for the last 3 years and had NO problems.
It was easy to sign up to and took no time at all.

The one or two dealers I DID have an issue with, PayPal refunded me fully.

The problem that folk have is LETHARGY!

Like...."Ooooh....I'll just let the rest of them do it....it's only 3 bucks anyway and I can't be bothered.... I'm so busy...and anyway, I've got to practise..."

Just DO it MFO's

(Or I'm gonna be after your ass!.....NO Joke!...)

I sincerely mean that.

cheers,

Ron

Sadly, I have to say just about 10 or so....

With that, and the response to Ailsa's well organized challenge, I personally feel like giving up.

Maybe Florian can come in and state how proud he is of everybody here etc

But if that's the group commitment, then I've kinda had it with these things.

cheers,

Ron

I think you can also use bank transfer as paying method. I will have to do that, since my credit card seems not to be verified.
btw. what will you do if someone pays more than 3$? Will you reject it?

RE: PayPal (in reply to Ron.M

well Ron, i dont know. If i wouldnt be a regular reader of this forum, i maybe wouldnt have noticed that there is such a Paypal donation on this forum. If i were you, i would make a link on the "home page", like those links above (Home, Todays Posts, etc...), or like the Eliasson advertisment, so that on every page there is a link like "Donate to this forum". Another thing is, well, paypal. Not everybody has an account, and will someone just create an account only for this? probably no. Im more surprised that already 10 people have a Paypal account at all...

Well Ron, it's funny I'm not very bothered about that. The purpose of the challenge was to encourage some uploads and get people some genuine feedback for those who were willing to have a go. I'll write a bit more about this once all the judging is in, but you know I've learnt a lot through the practising of the piece and from the comments. So I hope it achieved what I wanted for the few that joined in.

But it is disappointing there haven't been more paypal contributions. I thought most people would have paypal because it's what you use to buy stuff on Ebay. Or am I the only sad person to shop on Ebay? I bet I'm not!!

geez you get discouraged quic , have a litlle patience and a litlle faith amigo, its a new thing, it dosent just happen overnight...you see it as ONLY 6 people donated, i see it as wow, 6 people belived in this enough and what you guys are doing to go out of their way..its a start ! a greate start, thank you very much to those that decided to join in..and belived in this.

it will happen, but people need to be inspired into doing it and not made to feel gulty into doing it.. has to be a pleasure not an obligation..

so lets not focus on what we didnt get so far and be grateful for what we did get, lets try and inspire more generosity and not demand it..

id like to up my contribution to $ 10 ...just for the hell of it..to congratulate those of you that went out of your way to organize it...

I bet soon we will have enough for a nice litlle prize for the winners of the solea challenge I am so convinced of it that if we dont by the next week i will put up whatever we need to make it up to get the price out of my own pocket....(contact me at the end and let me know what the prize u wanted was and how much more do we need)

ahem...i hope those of you that havent donated dont let me do that i am not rich by any means..but if its action that it takes to inspire then cool,

but if i do, i dont mind its a pleasure, i am investing in good will and the foro..for everything it has given me over the years its worth that and more

I do agree that it has to be somewhere where it dosent just go down out of recent posts..somewhere where it can be seen..eg. under Ander's banner if Simon is cool with it..

to everyone else that hasent donated yet please dont think of this as a duty or let anyone make you feel gulty into doing it, only do it if you want..but if you can afford it please take a second and think about all the pleasure this might have brought you over the years, this is all going right back into the forum, noone is getting paid....

if anyone wants to make a donation but dosent have paypal..make it known here, wel find a way..i am sure theres a way around everything, other ways you can send your donation..every single donation counts..

because even more importantly than the actual money it shows the organizers suporrt and that you do care ..thats almost even more important the the actual 2 dollars

RE: PayPal (in reply to gj Michelob

i agree with those saying we need to get this donation thing, all over the place. it's not about forcing people, just a reminder that it's there. people ARE lazy. lazy enough to not hold things in mind. this will just make it easier for them.

notice how in your face those radio stations are when they ask for donations. they do it in between every song. maybe we need someone to pester people like that in between every post so florian's puppy can eat! j/k bad idea.

but yes, donate and florian's dog, you must eat so florian can't have a sense of smug self-satisfaction.

20...not bad!

should we/how do we punish people who break the rules? it'd be basically punishing someone for being too nice. lol.

gj, you're a lawyer, what do you think?
