So what's happening with this Buleri...

Is the closing date still the end of the Month?
I was listening to a young Jerez guitarist I like a lot and would like to learn a falseta of his, but that would take a couple of weeks, since my only main guitar time is at the Weekends.
Also, has the cejilla got to be on the second fret?
Sheesh...Bulerias sounds crap down there unless you're Paco or Tomatito etc.
Most others have it on 4+.
(Right up to 8....now you're talkin')
But 2?
Why not do it "sin cejilla" so we can all take advantage of the full fingerboard? LOL!

I vote for 4 at least and let the virtuosos amongst us stretch that wee bit further up the body of the guitar to play those fast high scale runs!

cheers

Ron

Ron.M Would you be a gentleman and put your cejillla at 2nd fret?
I don´t want to record my falsetas for the 5th time
Have you heard anything from Florian on this matter?
Maybe he´s on vaccation
Next time we´ll put the capo on 5th fret and do fandangos de huelva.

Ron,
I took lessons from El Carbonero in Jerez. Could you please explain to me what a 'cejilla' is?

LOL Phil,
I forgot about that. Cejillas are banned from El C's school.

I hear what you're saying Henrik, I wasn't even sure if Florian was still going ahead with it.
How is it coming along anyway? Has there been many falsetas submitted?

On the 2nd fret issue, most of my stuff is pretty basic, just around the first 5 frets using mainly first position chords.
With the capo on 4 or higher, it actually sounds like most of the Bulerias (non solo) that I hear.
A much nicer traditional sound from the guitar.
I don't listen to much solo stuff, and most of the cante/guitar stuff I have is all with the capo on 4 +.
With the capo on 2 it just sounds dead.
Of course accomplished guitarists who can play up and down the fretboard play the main body of their stuff higher up and still get that sound.
So it seems to me that Bulerias on the 2nd fret suits the more technically advanced players, leaving the rest of us basic thumb and rasgueado players to sound duff.

I think Florian is doing his falseta in an unusual key, so he will be using the capo higher up anyway.

cheers

Ron i would love for you to join the groupy again.

Hey i am at the point where i am fine with whatever is up to Henrik because hes not kidding hes had to record his falsetas 5 times.

I dont care what fret or what key or what speed we do it in I just wanna do it.

Just for the record I was planing it to do my falseta in normal key this time I must be getting old.

We can extend the deadline 2 weeks if you want to join us Ron.

Florian,
Please don't hold things up for me. If everybody has sent in their falsetas then go ahead and start mixing it down. If I can pick up this falseta and it doesn't sound too crappy then I'll send it and if you can fit it in then great and if not then no sweat, honestly!

cheers

Hmmm....not a great deal of partcipation then LOL!
Don't be disheartened though Florian.
I think maybe you picked a bad time, since July/August is holiday time in the Northern Hemisphere and the schools are out etc, so folk tend to be out and about more rather than sitting in a room practising.
Might be better shelving it for a while, unless you and Henrik would like to do a piece together, which would be great since you have similar kind of tastes and you could work on the overall composition together, including overdubbing etc?
That would be cool.

cheers

I gues everyone got put off by the confusion with the loops.

Il do a group buleria with whomever wants to do it if Henrik is the only one that wants to do it than that is fine with me I think the world of his playing and his compositions.

Just the fact that it has been so difficult to get this one going is pushing me even harder to get it done, so it will be done.

Henrik if you read this. we need to get togheder and talk fret and loop and ideas.

Sorry for the delay...

I wanna join in. What were the specifics again? (cejilla, tempo) The tempo loop didn't work right for me, so maybe just BPM?

Thanks!

Tonight i will mix all this rythms to make a straight foward loop to be able to play to it ( so dont try to play to it )
