wooo hooo finished transcribing

Man, I put in some monster hours the last two days... probably 16 hours, but I finished transcribing Barrio la Vina. That is a nice piece, and I recommend this transcribing business. Every time I do it, I feel so good about myself, kind of like the rare occasions I go to the gym. It hurts, but it's a good hurt. You can almost feel your brain and ear getting bigger.

Now I have to go about practicing all of this stuff, of course the picados are the biggest challenge. He uses a lot of little patterns, not just straight up and down scales, some of these patterns I haven't really practiced. So much to learn from the master!

Now, I don't even want to think about trying to get this in compas myself, I'm not up to it. does anyone have this in tab that I can check my work with?

Jerzy does that number, so he's probably got the tab.
You can hear his version at: http://www.geocities.com/jerzy_skoryna/Jr_spanishguitar.html

Is "maad" más que "mad"? Like really mad? I can't keep up with this new lingo.
Anyway, who cares about compás, so long as you can play all the notes in the right order. Right?
That's the main thing.

I was going for the effect of lengthening the vowel. Say mad, but change the compas, so that the d comes a beat or so late.

Hey, Ive burnt the midnight oil, only for someone to bring out a trans when I finished, well pissed me off, these days I do an exhastive search to make sure some piece hasn't already been done, although transcribing does give you an advantage over the rest of the pack, I have a Classical guitar pal, that is stumped without notation in front of him, and there are plenty of pro Piano players that cannot play more than a few notes without sheet music. Transcribing improves your memory like you would not believe, and also, I believe that unless you learn to play all the falsetas of the greats, you can not hope to create anything worth while of ones own, you cannot one day be playing The Triangle, then the next playing "Der Kunst Der Fugue" by JS Bach on the piano.
