The Wierdness Concert

I was in Perth for about 3 days and I just *have* to tell you guys about this completely wierd "concert".

Anyway, I go there because an old friend of mine tells me to go over and listen to him play some Flamenco at a small concert. I've never heard him play anything not by Clapton before so sure, along I went.

When I got there it was apparently at someone's home in Nedlands, and there were about 30 or so people cramped into one apartment. I have just set foot in the door when a total stranger proclaims I am about to do a German number. I protest, then my buddy tells me "just do one" and I said "I don't *know* any German music".
"Damn. You can play the organ right?" (Him)
"I wouldn't know it's been 18 years" (Me)
"Nevermind, do the Flamenco strumming thing, use the A chord". (Him)

Confused as I was, I did it. They went wild. I tried to play something. They insisted on doing "that chord" again. So on and on, for about ONE AND A HALF HOURS I played the A chord, A7, Asus2, and each time I made sure to do a Rasguedo. They loved it. They hated everything else I tried to play.

Go figure.

Miguel, how did you know?
As a matter of fact many were Japanese students, though there were also locals and some Indonesians. Is this sort of thing very popular over there or something?

And Cheston...you wouldn't like it. Really.
