i'm a bit reluctant to get involved in this thread 'cos people on here love to ridicule these kinds of things, they are not very "flamenco". but i will say that after using the trad position, and then the PDL position for a long time, then the Manolo Sanlucar footstool position for quite a while i have settled on using the "gitano" guitar support. it works for me, i use it to rest the guitar on my right leg, i have both feet on the ground, and it puts the guitar in relation to my body more or less where it would be if i sat in the PDL position but without my having to cross my leg. it is nearly invisible, when i am playing noone can see it is even there. and it costs less than a single visit to the osteopath/chiropractor, and i know all about that. having said all that, i believe that most problems associated with sitting playing the guitar are caused by unnecesary muscular tension, ie. muscular activity which is actually not needed for sitting or playing the guitar, usually taking the form of "fixing" in any position.
