Thanks mark indigo. Picado Ex looks good. Arpegio Ex are good as well. But playing arp with pinky? No way. What are the possible pros and cons?

Paco de Malaga a teacher in Washington DC showed these to me twice - once in 1989 - 90 and again in 1997. The first time I didn’t get it and went on to something else, but in 1997 I started working on these things.

no idea, and I don't know anyone who actually does it, at least not in flamenco guitar. I think there is a classical guitarist (Charles Postlewaite? I haven't checked) who advocates it on the basis of more finger options, better balance of hand, something like that, I have never looked into it.

EDIT: I checked, it is Charles Postlewaite. However, apparently the hand position necessary for using the pinky in arpegios etc. is further away from the usual flamenco hand positions, so I wouldn't bother looking into it any further. Just adapt the exercises for P, I, M and A if you want to use them.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. This is a problem that many guitarists have. A huge problem. Why? Because in

-Rasgeos
-Arpeggios
-Tremolo

your M and A fingers must be able to work independently and be relaxed and strong while doing so. Otherwise, these techniques are going to blur together and produce a hideous SHRUM sound instead of nice clear articulation. This will also throw you out of compas.

I can confirm this. This guy revealed the secret of mastering arpegio, tremolo and rasgueado.
