News from Granada
I heard some very good news this morning which I thought I would pass on to the foro. Emilio Maya has just taken over a lovely big premises on San Miguel Bajo and will be opening his new flamenco school there hopefully by November. And to get things rolling special guest Belen Maya will be teaching the first dance course.
Also, our home from home, the Eshavira club is doing a two month flamenco festival throughout December/January with top artists such as Enrique Morente and Pepe Habichuela to name just one line up.
Ay Pimiento looks like we wont get much sleep this winter.
Great news about Emilio ! (who owes me a lesson ) - what a perfect location!

Pobrecitos, life is rough, innit?! (And how often will you have to shovel the snow in between unforgettable flamenco experiences? )

OMG I love Belen Maya - I really wish I could be there! Chances are slim, but keep us posted Kate. And about Eshavira too - we might just manage a quick trip over - sort of Christmas present to ourselves!
Yeah Emilio was telling us about the new premises when he was over last week - sound absolutely great, and what a spot. For guys that haven't been to Granada, San Miguel Bajo is the prettiest square in the Albaicin with some really great bars - ideal for quenching your thirst after a hard dance class!!
How funny...I met Emilio and Jingle last night in The Eshavira and went to the new school/tablao afterwards.....and was going to post the news but you got up early and beat me to it. That'll teach me to go to bed at 4.00 in the morning! Jingle is going to be teaching guitar there as well and Emilio says there will also be regular gigs too(well thats the idea anyway)

Will let you know when the inaugaration party is. It would be great if you and Dave could make it. Emilio was really happy about his London gig and classes. Never seen him look happier than he does these days. The new school is amazing ! He's going to be putting on shows, combined with lunch on the plaza. Flamenco in the afternoon may seem a bit out of kilter but so many visitors dont go to flamenco shows simply as they are on late.

Me too, I bumped into Emilio and Jingle at Nueva Bodega just before Emilio's gig at the Upsetter. I was on a girls night out, crawling round the tapas bars. Glad you saw the school, isn't it great ? So much space, they reckon the big room will fit 50 even with a stage built in. I'll post some photos when it's done.
Hey Kiki Morente is on tonight at Eshavira . Want to go ?
We're working on it but Emilio is off to Slovakia, Switzerland and Russia in the next month as well as getting his school together and Harold is working both in our studio and overseeing building of the new super duper studio so all in all everyone is very busy.
