3 Sitka isn't used much (but I'm not sure why. After all, its a standard choice for steel strung guitars). Maybe if Sitka was a native European species it would have been used more?

We have to take into account that these varieties of woods measure differently against their own parts but the designs haven't really been discussed here.

I built a classical guitar recently with 2.2 mm cedar top and it was completely intact with its sound and construction. The plan with this was a 7 fan brace and structured to where it accommodated the cedar top just fine. Here is the picture on the left side of my front page.
