From my childhood (which is a long time ago) it is probably Bullitt - mainly for the Mustang and Charger

Which is why this is my car now

Best movies I can think of ATM...
Lawrence of Arabia, The Jerk, and Bill and Ted's Bogus Adventure!

Hey Simon...send me £1000 and I'll give you a written contract that I won't buy or drive a Mustang for the next 10 years and you can free yourself from any "carbon footprint" issues!

cheers,

Ron

Not that it matters but I just remembered that Jim Morrison also owned Shelby.

Steve Mcqueen, Jim Morrison, Escribano,...

Some pretty cool dudes

One of the best movies ever is without a doubt the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. There is at least five minutes before someone says a word in the movie.

There are just so many fantastic scenes in the movie. And the soundtrack is by Morricone!

I also nominate Bergman's the Seventh Seal. Everyone should see this movie.

My personal fave: Tombstone

The dialog is hilarious.

"Nonsense, I have not begun to defile myself!"

Ole!
Good Bad & Ugly is a 40 year old revolution in cinema that is still enjoyable every time I watch...
Bullitt still rocks, what can ya say about the movie that invented extended car chase sequences?
Bladerunner is possibly the greatest futuristic movie ever, which I get something new out of each time I watch, and it still looks fresh.
Any of Kurosawa's samurai movies rate too.
And for some entertainment, Jackie Chan in Drunken Master.

Guess the movie... don't cheat!

“Volia! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis an introduction, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honour to meet you and you may call me ...

@cathulu - duhh .....no I was guessing I haven't a clue. But it's damned good whoever wrote it!!

@Patrick - your clip got me browsing. I had forgotten how clever Chaplin was. It's so easy to dismiss old stuff because the clever new world of CGI seems so impressive. But look at this - it's absolute genius:

It's not only satirical it's beautifully danced. I seem to recall Chaplin's daughter or granddaughter was a ballet dancer and I'm not surprised - grace is obviously in the genes.

For me either "trainspotting" or "purely belter"

It's a pity Stephen Hill has moved his workshop - he had recreated the toilet scene from trainspotting 100%...

Purely Belter - Alan Shearers first acting role!

My favorite 3, '300', 'Gladiator' and 'The Passion.

Last night I saw Deathproof and was happy to see my favorite car, a 1970 Dodge Challenger. In a few months, I'll own a new 2008 Challenger!

Ooh, "Vanishing Point" - good call and what a lucky man with the new one, looks very cool.

quote:

And there goes the Challenger, being chased by the blue, blue meanies on wheels. The vicious traffic squad cars are after our lone driver, the last American hero, the electric centaur, the, the demi-god, the super driver of the golden west! Two nasty Nazi cars are close behind the beautiful lone driver. The police numbers are gettin' closer, closer, closer to our soul hero, in his soul mobile, yeah baby! They about to strike.

Shawshank redemption-seen it dozens of times and it always gets me. Love the end when the Morgan Freeman charactor gets re born.

Here's my 65 Simon-still needs a bit of work. No brakes at the moment.

My favorite Mustang has to be the Mach's. Here's a 72'. Didn't mean to hijack a thread about best movies and turn it into best cars. How about best cars in movies

Phew!
I can certainly see I'm a generation older here!
Ees, "Cars-R-Us. com".

Try " Local Hero" a film about Scotland, if you ever see it for rent.

You'll love it!

cheers,

Ron
